georgina13 Why take every opportunity that arises to attack St Pats club. If you have a disagreement with the club because it is taking steps to stop dogs crapping all over its Rugby pitches or yobs leaving knife blades and needles sticking up in the ground. Then take it up with the club officials. Why would you wish to complain about a club extending its space to accommodate more activities If it as a larger room then they may start drama classes. georgina13 Please remember these people do the job of looking after a lot of Wigan kid for free. They give their time and energy to the youth of Wigan. FREE. Not many people can be bothered to give kids a second glance let alone Hrs of unpaid advice and activities. I think you will find lots of people not only in Scholes and Ince have a lot to thank St Pats for. Give credit where credit is due georgina13 St Pats is a community club that cares about its community.
well said andycapp - watched the game there on Saturday and had a pint after - always a warm welcoming place full of familiar and famous faces - every week hundreds of kids are given pure joy by unpaid volunteers - priceless! I will be buying three bricks; one for me, one for John McDermott and one for Father Lappin
Thanks for the comments everyone and you are correct we ALL are UNPAID VOLUNTEERS and even lose wages to attend some meetings. Despite a minority of anti St. Patsers we will as a club strive to make our club and its facilities a SAFER, HEALTHIER and SECURE place for our members and Community to enjoy themselves and all as UNPAID VOLUNTEERS. Thanks andycapp for your comments its things like you state that make it all worthwhile and we will always welcome any kid we turn away nobody. Its easy to put a SMILE on a kids face the HARDEST part is keeping it there. Thanks JC.
im not attacking the club so stop getting at me i am entitled to my opinion. and there are some people who live right behind the club that have had fences vandalised by the kids u take of the street because they have been seen doing it. and coming out of the club. anyway good look with it all.i hope u get good use out of the new build lets see what u offer the community who dont watch or play rugby.

Sorry georgina13 In no way am I getting at you as you put it. You or entitled to your opinion. I was just expressing mine. I agree with you on Noise and Parking as you live so near the club. I think though if you had stated your abjection's through that you would have come over a lot better in your post. Have you expressed your concerns to the club officials.? Once again though on behalf of all resident's of the district I would like to thank Curly and his associates for the excellent job they do for the community.
PS. In memory of a great St Pats man Cliff Fleming.RIP.
dear andycapp of course the concerns have bee raise to the officals.and i have raised this with curly so im not going to go on. good luck to the club and all the lads.
When did you raise them with me Georgina13 apart from your comments on here, if I remember rightly I made arrangements to meet you and show you our facilities on a Monday night. Aerobics night and having waited from 5-30 (agreed meeting time)until 9-00pm you did not show I was not made aware of the fact your child was ill until I got home and saw your post (put on at 8-30approx) on WW. I accept if a child is ill that cannot be helped so no problem there. Nobody is having a go at you but once again if you are interested in helping at the club we are after volunteers for running a youth club perhaps this could fit in with your daughters drama . Only suggestion I did ask you on your last post to name offenders but neither I or any other official has heard anything. We cannot solve a problem if we are not given the details. Come on down and join us your more than welcome bring your mates and your kids mates thats what were here for. The people that live behind the club that have had fences vandalised are they the same ones that when we erected a security fence (at our expense) behind their houses came in and thanked the club for what we had done.
dear curly
no it is not the people who thanked you for putting up fences. i am saying no more on the matter and as for volunteering i work full time so i dont have spare time to come and help.. good luck with the new build.

Just come back from a holiday in Spain, met a family from Chorley who when they discovered I came from wigan asked did I know St Pats of course answered yes apparently their elder son now plays for St Pats. well curly i have to say the haloween party at the club was great. I took my kids and my sister took hers. My daughter found friends from school and enjoyed dancing. Th food was good. my niece got up singing and i won on the raffel. The only thing that i would say is there were more adults than children. If u had advertised thst u were having a party then i think u would have had more people. But a great night well done to all the organisers and i hope there is a christmas party next. well done xxx
We did advertise and glad you enjoyed it unfortunately we cannot make people come and yes we are having a Xmas party so you can do some advertising for us. I was there asked around but nobody knew who you were. See you at xmas one.
there was only one person i knew there and that was because she works for same company as me but people call me gina. yes i would do some advertising for. yes definatly i will be at the x mass party.
Many thanx curly i will. i remember going to watch st pats play on the field. when i was a kid with connie topping. Do you remember here she was a great supporter of the club.
So next time i go in the club do i ask for curly is that ur real name.
Connie Topping was my mums best mate, she was a right character Connie and her Husband John was a painter worked with my brother. Ask for curly they will point you to me.
yes i used to live a few doors down from connie, and john and used to do some of the shows with the mothers. I loved connie and john hope they are resting peacfully in heaven.
